haha the car drama in my family is crazy... here's a recap of the past WEEK... i know honestly...
car #1 - saturn ion - had an electronics problem and brokedown on Anne and Marshall right at the beginning of Grapevine on their way back to LA. had to have it towed. woo! not to mention this event happened at 8:30 or so at night, and so the tow truck arrived about an hour or so later, leaving them in the dark (haha) ;) ...
car #2 - infiniti - nail/screw in the tire, had to have tire replaced...
car #3 - mini coop - there was a recall on 2005 mini cooper sports due to an electronic computer problem, so fix it we did...
car #4 - pontiac vibe - my sister ran over PLIERS on the freeway after picking up Helen and almost blew the damn tire out because of how they hit and struck the tire. haha not only that she was stranded in the median as opposed to the shoulder, and so a policeman had to slow freeway traffic to a crawl so she could get across four lanes and wait for the tow truck safely in the shoulder. which is pretty cool (thank you cop wherever you are haha :) )...
crazy cars. haha geez...
i ran the dish today (that's the stanford dish for all you non-locals...), i'm tired... that is all :) and yes my campers are still brats! haha... night fools i'm off. |

so my family and i are now property of stanford (no more los altos! although i do realize it is only a mile or so away), yes the campus, and no i don't live in a dorm, and yes i have been asked that.
so far we have had problems with:
- our internet (booo!)
- our wireless internet (honestly!)
- our newspaper service
- our ikea orders (honestly people, a shoe rack is a lot different then a closet thing)
- our satellite tv thing (maybe having nothing for 20 years was a sign that my family should stay away from cable and all that satellite crap) haha...
anyway... the current situation is that the internet sorta works on my computer (when it feels like it), the wireless is under construction and back-up help is being sent in soon, there has been no newspaper for a while (i am fricking four days behind in comics, ARG!!!), our ikea orders are being fixed, and satellite is going okay, although sometimes it cuts out. geez!
also it is fricking hot right now, and we don't have AC!!! yeesh! damn painful...
i went shopping yesterday and spent a good chunk of money on clothes, yay! except it was my money... damn! the one time i go without my mom i stumble across irrestible items!
anne and marshall went back to LA in the saturn, which we forgot to have serviced 2000 miles ago, and so it broke down and they are now stuck near the grapevine waiting to be picked up by my other sister, aw! poo, i feel bad for her, but she is with marshall (two people are better than one!), it seems to be an okay situation, and it could have been a lot worse! but i am very sorry this problem had to happen to her (in case you read this anne) ;)
i think that is it. if you want my new phone number, OR my new addy, please let me know and i will get it to you!

livejournal says it's been twelve weeks since my last entry. welllll shit. i guess i will write something down then.
summer has been all right, we are moving houses, so off to stanford we go!! i know big change, but i will miss los altos! i have never really moved before, unless you count moving houses once when i was two (and then two sabaticals) so it shall be weird, and totally different :( my goal before we leave is to hit on the boy i'm currently stalking (i know, seriously), and so i haven't got much time left to do that!!!! gotta work the deadline people.
camp i'm coaching at is interesting. i am tired of work! and of the sun (farmer's tan)! and of worrying about a gazillion kids all the time! although a lot of them are plain old cuties. anyway the camp i am working at currently is crazy, because the park we are at currently has a gang war over a goddamn basketball court (yeah the one we are using) and then there have been six kiddie abductions in the past year at this park too. also there has also been a small gambling problem at the benches near the basketball court. WHAT THE FUCK!?! so keeping all this in mind i will be totally grateful that nothing happens to the kids, pleeeease don't let anything happen to them! scary. but we are doing our best to watch everything. i just wish skyhawks and gang wars didn't mix on the same basketball court.... :-/

i am in dynamic fitness. it sucks. it is really called die-namic fitness... yeah original i know... we did running in our ampitheater yesterday... not too bad. today? went for a nice run in the pouring rain. i felt like i was in the army because we were running, soaking wet, in the rain, through roads and a muddy trail, it was fun. no actually it was, this part i didn't mind. what else was army-like? oh yeah maybe the push-ups we did afterward... all 250 of them (with very little breaks mind you, we had to use our mental toughness according to the football coaches)... i can't feel my arms, it is even a wonder how my fingers are typing all of this because my hands were straining to hold myself up on the fingertip push-ups. i feel like i should have six-packs on both of my biceps... well i know that's not possible but if it were possible i would definitely have six-pack arms... they just feel that swollen with growing muscle right now... that is all...
a good thing is i see anne on sunday :) that makes me happy, we always have good venting sessions about life, haha, oh dear.
i am also happy i go home for julie's birthday! yes it is during our spring break so it works out but i was happy nonetheless. and yes eating cake will be a big plus :) los altos here i come, again...
valentine's day is coming up. luckily it's on a monday so i will have homework and stuff to do and won't think too much about being single... again. oh well, maybe something interesting will happen, you never know... |

It has been a long while! Time for a quick update...
1) Mammoth was fun! After finals I went for a few days with friends, and snowboarding was way good and I didn't do half badly. Friends were fun. Watching my best friends make out with their boyfriends for most of the trip? hmm, awkward, but luckily a few things helped solve that problem. ;) haha, anyways, could I just say the funniest part of the trip was when Kyle poured a beer into a vase-thingy to drink out of because we had no more glasses, and he didn't see the BIG ASS SPIDER, COBWEBS and like, other CRAP in the vase.... Let's just say he drank a little bit out of it (luckily nothing was swallowed), and ONLY when he lifted the thing to toast did he notice this MONSTER of a SPIDER floating on top... ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Thank SOMEBODY that he didn't drink it, because I think I might have thrown up at the sight. We took pictures though, so hopefully I can get them off of someone's camera to post, because until you see what I'm talking about will you not quite grasp the humor or sickness of it... eeeeh I am still grossed out...
2) GRADES!! haha who would have thought I, Lindsey Nicole Fish, could pull off a 3.85 this semester?!?!? HAHA! 3.7 - Astronomy, 3.7 - Sociology, 4.0 - American Lit, 4.0 - Experiencing music... KICK ASS. :-D Especially playing soccer during the same semester! Oh well, the school gods were with me :-D
3) Computer! Boo, my computer DIED. All my shit was deleted because I had to get a new hard drive... So I am currently living on my computer restoring music and trying to put back everything I had... as annoying as that is it is also a good thing because it means I now don't have nearly half as much crap on my computer, and this time around I can filter what is put on it... so I guess there is a bright side to it all.

I decided to be adventurous and get some random Mandeco or something sandwich at the Commons today... BAD CHOICE! :-P Although it looked fine... had lettuce, tomatoes, ham, and mayo, it also had some weird spread on it, and to top it off he put in some kind of leafy thing as well, which I had to take out because it just left a really bad taste in my mouth. AND to top it off, the carrot salad stuff soaked the bottom of my bread, and soggy bread is definitely a sin. Granted you can't trust the Commons, but GRR!! Now the only memory I have left of my lunch is bad breath and an unsatisfied tummy... :-P Definitely going for more food soon. |

I know it's been a while, but what can I say I've been busy!! ;) haha... but no, seriously, I have! Soccer, school, sleeping, and eating covers most of it. But if that's not enough for you, here are some of my thoughts written down...
BIG soccer game tomorrow! We play Claremont and we really need to pull off a VICTORY! Let's see how it goes! No matter what though I will definitely be excited to see my parental unit! I love them bunches and being the supportive parents whom I know and love, they are coming down for the game tomorrow! :) Yay.
There is much excitement in room 262, being my room (...), because Jawny and I now both have iTunes (she didn't have it before) and we are both busy importing music, other people's cds, and I am also stealing music... YAY! I have so much new stuff I don't know what to do with it! :) OH Joyous Occasions... :) Yeah that might make me sound like a loser but I am now obsessed with making my iTunes better and better, and getting more music, so it's really fun! Go me, and yay for my ever-expanding music collection!
Fall break this weekend! YAY! Two days off of school! And that's a well-deserved two days off too! Still have soccer so nothing too exciting can go on, but at least it's some what of a relaxation time... I'm kind of excited we are hoping to go to Venice Beach, which means I see Helen (! YAY !) and I am also planning a trip out to Whittier on either the Monday or the Tuesday so see my wonderful sister Annie! Looking forward to it, so hopefully everything works out! (Sorry Julia you're the only one I can't see! :( )

Geez, life is so crazy right now. Why do I always seem to be chasing it trying to catch up, instead of living it? Whenever I have a moment to myself, I just remember that I have phonecalls to make to friends and family, homework to do, a room to organize, a Wal-Mart/Target run for notebooks, hangers, and bathroom supplies, and future events to start planning and thinking about, like essays, projects, and soccer games. Sure I'm having some fun along the way, but when am I going to think I'm actually in control of my life? Prolly never... (o_O)
Anyways, 'nuff of that, I went to TEXAS this past weekend, and I went with an open mind, and no expectations, and I must say it was an AWESOME experience. :) I was amazed at how spread out everything was, and how green grass and trees are everywhere! Other things that were everywhere? Water towers!! haha there was even a water tower for Brooke's high school. It totally reminded me of football towns with water towers in random movies.
Brooke's house was really awesome (another thing I didn't know was how half of the houses in Dallas are ALL BRICK... weird!), her family was not only nice enough to feed all of us (and when I say feed I really mean SPOIL like no other :-D), and they even rented a pontoon boat to take us out on the lake behind her house. The food was absolutely delicious, and I stuffed myself silly with Tri-tip steak, salmon, pasta, oreo cheesecake (SOOOOO GOOD), brownies, and shrimp, etc. The boat ride was incredible, because our group, although not having time to swim in the lake, experienced a beautiful Texan sunset, and that just made the night.
Everything about this trip was amazing, and to top it off we won both of our soccer games, 2-0 and 1-0, and so our objective of the trip was fulfilled. :-D Lots of pictures were taken, and so when I get my hands on all of them I will be sure to put them up on Webshots.
I guess I'll end it here with a Texas joke...

Being back at school so far has been pretty fun!! Of course it has had its major downsides, but seeing friends, moving into Anderson, playing soccer with a very changed team, and getting ready for school has been exciting! I just can't WAIT until my parents and sister come this weekend, A) to see them again ;) and B) because they're bringing all my stuff!!! FINALLY! :) My room will actually look more like MY ROOM! Very cool.
Well the only reason I was at school so early was because of soccer, and this year tryouts have been HARD. So fucking crazy, our coach is obsessed with winning a SCIAC Championship this year because we lost the title last year when we lost our last game of the season, so everything right now seems to be at least three times as hard last year because I guess we're trying to gain back what was ours? I dunno... Plus it doesn't help that our new Grad Assistant, although totally cool, is a total psycho as well, and loves to punish us when we are dying and not playing well due to injuries, lack of sleep, and non-stop moving around all day due to their schedule they set up for us. It's just wonderful! :-P haha, anyways, yeah so for the first few days of tryouts I definitely had thoughts of death in my head, because we ran SOO MUCH and got the crap kicked out of us each and every practice. It was not fun at all, and everytime we ran more, or we were yelled at, their only excuse was, Do you WANT TO WIN a SCIAC championship?! BAH on that :-P you can't use that damn line everytime you want us to do something. Plus, my priority this soccer season is NOT to just win my coach a fucking title, for although it's on my mind, and it would be nice to win league, I don't play soccer and base my success on winning a damn league or not... As Cervantes wrote, "The journey is better than the inn." Fuckers...
Anyways, that's it for now, I have to go to, what a surprise, a soccer meeting. haha oh well... ;) Hope all who are reading this are doing well, whether it be with school, work, or life in general. Watched Open Water tonight... hmmm. It was one of those movies where when the lights come on after the end, you just say outloud, NO WAY!! That couldn't have been the ending of the movie!!! It was just blah... Although it had some good parts/quotes it was just somewhat depressive, and then over. Oh well...
Jammed thumb today at goalie practice, ouch!! Definitely still hurts... The good news is Kayla came, and that is always fun because her shots are kick ass, and I did pretty well against them today. I also let some in but that's all part of the game right? ;) Anyways it was my last goalie practice this summer, so it was a good way to end having Kayla there and doing well (while playing through pain!) :)
Another soccer highlight? Uhh that would be ME (yup ME), a goalkeeper, scoring THREE times at my last indoor game!! And I had an assist!! Yay! It was a good game, and my team didn't lose!! We tied!! ;) haha good times!!
Last thing, Cake Batter ice cream (with cookie dough) is yummy. :-D

bought the board. sector 9, cosmic 2, i believe. fucking AWESOME! took it out around town, sooo fun! i went from going "around the block," to about a three mile ride, extremely cool. :) definitely a wonderful investment which will keep me highly entertained.
three of my six friends are outta town! i miss them :( especially the new yorker :( oh well only a few more days, or maybe after i come back from sea ranch, i have no idea...
it's weird thinking that after i go outta town, i come back and then within two days i'm already headed back to school! i was just getting used to being home... |
